    Health

Honey from the local beekeeper is not only delicious, but also healthy:

    • Rich in natural enzymes, vitamins and minerals which are preserved because the honey is not heated or processed.
    • Supports the immune system and soothes sore throats and coughs.
    • Contains antioxidants which help protect the body against free radicals.
    • Low glycemic index compared to refined sugar, making it a healthier sweetener when used in moderation.
    • Locally harvested honey can help reduce hay fever and allergies because it contains pollen from the local region.

Please note: honey is not suitable for children younger than 1 year.

    Origin

Charly's Bees honey is harvested locally in Ranst, Antwerp Province. The bees collect nectar from the surrounding flower fields and orchards, which ensures a unique, seasonal taste.

    Types:

    • Spring Flower Honey: Sourced from various spring flowers. Available as liquid honey and as creamed honey (smooth and easy to spread).
    • Apple Blossom Honey: Made from the nectar of apple blossoms, harvested in early spring. This honey has a soft, fruity taste and a light, firm texture.

    Creamed vs. Liquid

Creamed honey differs from liquid honey mainly in texture and use. Liquid honey is clear and ideal for mixing into, for example, tea or yogurt.

Creamed honey, on the other hand, is spreadable, soft, and opaque, making it perfect for bread.

The difference arises because creamed honey is intentionally stirred during crystallization, creating fine crystals and a creamy texture, while liquid honey remains liquid immediately after harvesting until it naturally crystallizes.
