Coffee prices keep fluctuating. What does this mean for you?
Perhaps you've heard already: coffee prices continue to fluctuate. This is due to a mix of factors: failed harvests in Brazil and Vietnam, expensive and longer transport routes, and a growing global demand for quality coffee. Together, these factors cause the price of green coffee beans to fluctuate. Naturally, we at earthly feel this as well.
Price Increase in January
In January, we couldn't avoid it: purchasing prices were so high that we had to adjust our coffee prices. Our Mexico increased by €2 per kilo, and the Peru by €3 per kilo. Not ideal, but necessary.
A Favorable Dip
Fortunately, there was a dip in the market shortly thereafter. We immediately made a strategic purchase then. This allowed us to keep the price, which has been in our webshop ever since, stable, even now that the market is rising again. This way, you can still benefit from that lower purchase price for the time being.
What's Happening Now
Currently, we are seeing another global increase in coffee prices. This is partly due to uncertainty surrounding harvests and the higher costs of transporting coffee. For you, fortunately, this means that the coffee currently available online still has the same price.
What Does the Future Hold?
As soon as our current stock runs out, we will have to make new purchases. Since prices are rising, it is likely that the next batch will be somewhat more expensive. Exactly how much, we won't know until the time of purchase. Of course, we will communicate this transparently, as you expect from us.

The price of coffee is determined by an interplay of nature and the market. Climate change leads to failed harvests, such as the drought in Brazil and floods in Vietnam.
